This longer exploration in Sapa includes a trek through the hills and valleys of the Sapa region, discovering several different minorities along the way. You will experience overnight accommodation in the hospitable villages of Dzay and Tay ethnic minorities. The apparent hardships are worth it though as we walk through some of the most spectacular scenery that Vietnam has to offer and experience unique villages culture.

Night 1: Night train to Lao Cai

Transfer from your hotel to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight in AC soft sleeper cabin.

Day 1: Sapa – Sin Chai Village - Cat Cat Village - Y linh Ho Village

On arrival in the border town of Lao Cai, you will be met up by local guide for transfer to the former hill station of Sapa. In the terraced hills and mountains of this area, the monotony of the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colors of its hill tribe population - flashes of shining silver jewelry from the necks and wrists of indigo-clad Hmong and the scarlet hues of the turbans worn by the Red Dao can be seen. It is here you will find hands stained with color from fabric dyes and shades of blue, red and green intricately embroidered and stitched into jackets, waistcoats, pants, skirts, caps, purses and leggings.
After breakfast (optional) you will be transferred downhill to Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority, which locates right at the foot of Hoang Lien mountain range. Here you start heading up the mountain. Once you get to the top, you will trek on a small trail with spectacular view and then gradually descend to Cat Cat village, where you will have lunch nearby a waterfall.
In the after noon, you take a trail sneaking through mountain. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river you eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest in a nice spot nearby the beautiful river. You will stay overnight in a local family of Black H’mong in Y Linh Ho village.

Day 2: Y Linh Ho Village - Lao Chai Village - Ta Van Village – Giang Ta Chai Village

Today’s trek will continue along Hoang Lien mountain range, which offers you many opportunities to enjoy view over huge rice paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area.
You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house.
After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village where you will spend the night in local house of Red Dao minority. Dinner and overnight at Giang Ta Chai.

Day 3: Giang Ta Chai Village - Thanh Kim Village - Thanh Phu Village

After breakfast, we start the trek through the rice terraces to the village of Su Pan then continue to Thanh Kim for lunch. After lunch time, we will trek along a narrow valley downhill for 2 hour to the Ngoi Bo River, then uphill for 1 hour to Muong Bo Village at the center of Thanh Phu Commune - a village of Tay minority. Dinner and overnight stay. .

Day 4: Thanh Phu Village – Nam Than Village – Nam Nhiu Village – Sin Chai B Village

Breakfast and leave Thanh Phu at about 08.00 am. Today’s adventure will take us through a number of small ethnic minority villages (including Red Dao, Tay,  Xafo and Black H’mong). This portion of the trek offers stunning view of Nam Sai and Nam Cang Valleys as well as chances to understand life of tribal peoples in remote land. We will see people from the local communities carrying out their daily activities as it is in the northern highlands. Our trek will take us to our home stay for tonight in a bamboo hut in Sin Chai B village of Red Dao minority. Having a short rest and enjoy an easy walk to explore this charming and quiet village.

Day 5: Sin Chai B - Thanh Phu - Sapa

After breakfast we trek downhill to Nam Cum Village then continue to Muong Bo Village for lunch. In early afternoon we head to Thanh Phu Bridge where we meet our bus and take a beautiful drive back to Sapa. Upon arrive in Sapa we take shower and spend the rest of the day exploring Sapa town. 5.30 pm we will be transferred to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.

Trekking:    12 km - Introductory grade

Accommodation:   Soft sleeper in AC cabin

Day 6: Arrive in Hanoi. Trip completes

Arrive in Hanoi around 5 am. Trip completes
